The Essence of Karma

The path of Karma is mysterious and difficult to comprehend.
Gahanaa Karmano gatih

The aroma of roasted coffee beans lingered in the air, mingling with the soft hum of
conversations and the low notes of a jazz piano track playing in the background. Rain
tapped gently against the large windowpanes of the cafe, blurring the view of the bustling
city outside. Krishna sat peacefully at a corner table tucked away from the crowd, stirring
his tea, the spoon clinking gently against porcelain. The steam from his cup dancing lazily.

Arjun sat across from Krishna in a quiet corner, nursing a half-sipped cappuccino, its foam
now sculpted into nothing. His fingers drummed restlessly on the ceramic mug.

A muted news report played on the wall-mounted television above the counter.
“Markets surge to new highs. AI startup acquired a billion-dollar deal. Meanwhile, experts
warn of burnout and rising loneliness among young professionals.”

Arjun (brows furrowed): Krishna, I have been thinking about the concept of Karma and its
relevance in today’s world. Civilization has changed so much since our time, and I wonder
if Karma still holds amidst the complexities and advancements of modern society. In this
world of algorithms and ambition, where everyone’s chasing the next big thing, does Karma
still matter? Or is it just another romantic idea from the past?

Krishna placed the spoon beside his cup, eyes calm and infinite.

Krishna (with a gentle smile): Karma isn’t bound by time, Arjun. It doesn’t care whether
the world runs on chariots or Wi-Fi. Every action, every intention, still ripples out. The
universe remembers everything, even in silence.

Arjun: But Krishna, in the present age, we witness people committing various deeds
without facing any consequences. I see people lie, cheat, manipulate, and yet they seem
to thrive. It seems that Karma doesn’t catch up with everyone.

Krishna: Justice doesn’t always wear a wristwatch, my friend. Karma is not always
immediate, but it is always precise. The essence of Karma remains unchanged throughout
time, for it is rooted in the fundamental laws of the universe. Karma, simply put, is the law
of cause and effect. Every action we take, whether physical, mental, or emotional, creates
an energy that ripples through existence, eventually returning to us in some form.
