What is evil? Money or Man?

Many of us have experienced or believed, may be for a moment that money is the root of all evil. But this too-obvious-to-accept statement made me ponder over what it is about money that makes it evil? Or rather what it is about humans that make money seem evil? Is it love of money or lack of it?

Like Adam & Eve, we are all driven by our desires. Desires of easy money, to live as luxurious a life as one can. And while achieving this, we evolved more materialistically and less naturally! We reckoned that money can buy anything & everything. We believed the more money we have, the merrier the life will be and then began the love for more money.

Slowly, money replaced the very facts of our survival. From food, clothing & shelter, our needs transformed into technology, automobiles & property. We cognized that to lack money is to lack survival. We overvalued the power of money and compromised our health, values, relations and much more to win in this game of survival.

However, whatever may be the cause of this evilness, we should not forget that the real measure of a man’s wealth is how much he would be worth if he loses all his money. Although we need money to survive but to live a happy and contented life, we need someone to earn money for and to spend this money on. Though today to lend your money is to lose your friend, we should also remember that a friend in need is a friend indeed.

Having said this, I believe the bottom line is, today we need something that the money cannot buy!
